It is known that each site does not look the same when viewed at different screen resolutions. This concerns the ability to visit the pages of the site not only on a computer, but also from mobile devices.

Find out the resolution of your screen using the “Screen” tab in the “Settings” application (Windows 10 only)

If you use Windows 10, the easiest way to find out the resolution of your screen on Windows 10 is to view the “Screen” tab in the “Settings” application. Click on the “Settings” icon in the “Start” menu.

In the "Settings" click on the "System" tab.

In the left part of the window, select “Screen”, and then scroll to the right until you see a box with the heading “Zoom and Layout”. Here you will see the “Resolution” option. Its current value will be the resolution of your screen. For example, in the screenshot below, you can see that our laptop has a resolution of 1600 × 1200 pixels.

Note: The native resolution of your screen is labeled “Recommended” on the right.

You should also know that there is a faster way to open the “Screen” tab in the “Settings” application. On the empty part of the Desktop, right-click or and hold it, and then select “Screen Properties” in the context menu.

Find out the resolution of your screen using the “Screen Resolution” tab in Control Panel (Windows 7 and Windows 8.1)

In Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, you can find out the resolution of your screen in pixels, for example, on a laptop using the “Screen Resolution” option in the Control Panel. To start, open the Control Panel - to do this, click on its icon in the Start menu (in Windows 7) or on the Start screen (in Windows 8.1).

In the Control Panel, select “Devices and Sound” and click on the link “Change Screen Resolution” in the “Screen” tab.

On the "Screen Resolution" page there is an option "Resolution". The value selected there is the current resolution of your screen.

In the example below, the screen of our laptop has a resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels.

It should be noted that there is a faster way to find out the monitor screen resolution on Windows 7 - open this tab in the Control Panel: on an empty part of the Desktop, tap or right-click, then click on the “Screen Resolution” option in the context menu.

Find out the resolution of your screen on the “Screen” page in the “Settings” application (For Windows 8.1 only)

In Windows 8.1, you can find out the screen resolution, including on a laptop, using the “Screen” page in the “Settings” application. Open "PC Settings" and select "Devices and PCs", and in it the "Screen" tab. You will see the “Resolution” heading in the right part of the window and the current value of your screen to the right of it. For example, in the screenshot below, you can see that our screen has a resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels.

Find out your screen resolution with DirectX Diagnostic Tools (For all versions of Windows)

For this method, it does not matter which version of Windows you have installed, so you can always use the “DirectX Diagnostic Tools” to get the resolution of your screen. Open the Run program, command prompt, or PowerShell. In any of these programs, type “dxdiag” and press Enter on your keyboard.

In the “DirectX Diagnostic Tools”, select the “Display” tab and scroll down the “Device” list until you find the field with the name “Current Screen Resolution”. Its value is the current resolution of your screen. In the example below, you can see that our monitor has a screen resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels.

Find out the resolution of your screen using the System Information application (For all versions of Windows)

You can also find out the resolution of your screen in the System Information application. Open this application using the command line.

In it, expand the “Components” list on the left side of the window and select “Screen” or “Display”. Scroll to the right of the window until you see the Resolution element. Its value will be the resolution of your screen. In the example below, you can see the resolution of our screen - 1920 × 1080 pixels.
