How to clean a burnt or old pot

Almost every housewife was faced with a situation where the shiny surface of the pan was covered with unattractive soot. Usually this occurs due to an elementary oversight. Among the possible causes of soot can be identified products such as milk, jam, porridge, rice and so on.

In rare cases, it is possible to get rid of burning inside the container and outside with the help of an ordinary soap solution, which the hostess uses in everyday life. However, in some cases it is necessary to use potent chemicals. Even a dishwasher does not always work. It launders only part of the pollution.

In order to clean the pan from soot at home, there is no need to use chemical-based products. You can do with the simplest improvised means that are available to almost every housewife. What methods for cleaning pots can be called the simplest and most effective? What folk remedies can I use and what is needed for this?

Cleaning the pan with activated carbon

This method is ideal for almost any type of pan. Pots made of stainless steel can be easily cleaned to a shine with one activated carbon. In order to notice the effect of such cleaning as soon as possible, it is enough to take 3 tablets of regular activated carbon. After this, it is necessary to crush the coal to a powder state. To do this, you can use a standard teaspoon or a small sieve.

When the crushing of coal is finished, it is necessary to fill in the resulting mixture with soot, which formed on the pan. Now it remains to leave the pan for 30 minutes. The next cleaning step is to fill the pan with as cool water as possible. When it is filled to the brim, you should wait about 35 minutes. After that, washing the pan from any kind of contamination will be much easier.

Soap cleaning

Ordinary soap also cleans the pan. Instead of soap, you can use a liquid solution. In order to speed up the cleaning process, it is best to fill the pan with hot water, and then pour liquid soap or soap shavings into it. It remains to put it on the stove and turn on a low fire. The boiling process should last about 20 minutes.

Then you should drain all the water and try to get rid of carbon deposits using a regular sponge. Under the influence of a sponge, carbon deposits will become significantly softer. You can also use an item called a scraper. Keep in mind that this method is unlikely to help if the pan burned too much.

Cleaning the pan with vinegar

This method is only suitable for stainless steel or aluminum pots. Do not try to use vinegar for pots made from other materials. For example, enameled pots cannot be cleaned with vinegar. The recipe for cleaning using vinegar is as follows:

Only use a 9% bite. It can be purchased at a regular grocery store. Instead of vinegar, you can use freshly squeezed lemon juice or citric acid. In order to wash the bottom of the pan, you have to pour as much vinegar or any of its substitutes as possible. After that, you need to cover the container with a lid and wait 120-180 minutes. After that, you can wash the pan with a sponge or using detergent.

This cleaning method is ideal for aluminum products, as it allows you to clean the surface of the metal from any stains that appear on it over time. In no case should you use vinegar to clean enameled dishes.

Cleaning pots with salt

Salt is used to clean dishes, however, depending on the material from which the product is made, the cleaning method differs.

If the pan is made of stainless steel, it is necessary to fill the container with cool water and leave for 120 minutes. Then you need to pour out all the water and pour a handful of table salt. It is unacceptable to add salt directly to water, otherwise ugly dark spots will remain on the metal. A similar method is perfect for aluminum pots. With it, you can get rid of burnt porridge and other products.

If we are talking about a burnt enameled pan, then it should not be filled with water. The fact is that under the influence of cool water the container may deteriorate. It will be enough to fill the surface with salt, and then leave it for a couple of hours. Wash the bottom of the tank from soot will be extremely easy. It is enough to use a sponge and hot water. If we are talking about too much pollution, the procedure can be repeated several times.

Whey cleaning

This method may seem unusual, but it is effective for all types of pots.

Whey is a versatile product that can be used to remove any impurities inside or outside the pan. Whey does not spoil the surface and does an excellent job cleaning any materials. The reason for such a high efficiency lies in the composition of the serum. It contains many chemical alkalis and acids that help instantly remove carbon deposits.

To clean the surface, it is enough to fill in the burnt place with milk serum a few centimeters above the level of pollution. After this, the pan should be left for about 24 hours. When this period passes, washing the container with a sponge will be easier than ever.

Soda pan cleaning

This method is ideal for stainless steel tanks as well as enameled pots. The aluminum pan in this case cannot be cleaned.

Cleaning with soda is a great way to deal with contamination if other methods have not helped to cope with soot. Usually soda is available to every housewife. With the help of this substance, it is possible to easily remove contaminants in the tank. To do this, just pour a small amount of soda to the very bottom. Now it remains to wait 35 minutes. After that, washing the pan will be much easier.

It happens that the tank burns both inside and out. In this case, replacing soda is almost impossible. The soda cleaning process for all surfaces involves several steps:

1. First, remove any fusible and plastic parts from the pan. 2. Then you should place the container in the tank as capacious as possible. 3. Now you need to fill it with a solution of soda. In order to cook it, you should use 5 liters of water per 500 g of soda powder. The liquid must completely cover the container. 4. The water must be brought to a boil, and then reduce the heat and boil the pan for a couple of hours. 5. Water should be allowed to cool. 6. It remains to remove the container from the water and clean it with a sponge.

Soda / salt cleaning

This method is suitable for aluminum products and enameled surfaces.

At the very beginning you need to prepare the mixture. To do this, mix salt and soda in a 1: 1 ratio. When the mixture is done, you should fill in the soot, which is located at the very bottom of the pan. Then you need to add a small amount of water. This is necessary so that the powder thickens as soon as possible. Now the capacity can be left for 24 hours. When this period ends, you can begin the process of removing the mixture. To do this as soon as possible, you need to draw water into a pan and boil it for at least 30 minutes on a fairly low heat. It remains only to wash the tank in the usual way.

Cleaning with PVA glue and laundry soap

This way you can clean almost any pan. If you need to clean up a very old pan that has a lot of contaminants, you should use the recipe below.

For 4 liters of boiling water you need to cook a third of the soap grated into the chips. It is also necessary to add 1 tbsp. l PVA glue. The resulting mixture remains to boil for 30-40 minutes. Even a black coating will be easy to wash if you use this method.

Cleaning with special products that are used to remove grease.

Similar tools can be used to clean stainless steel tanks, as well as aluminum pans. The enameled pan is also easy to clean.

It is best to give preference to such means as “Amway”, “Chister”, “Bagi Shumanit”. Using the above tools is extremely simple. To do this, lubricate the soot with liquid inside the container and wait about 10-15 minutes. After that, wipe the surface with a sponge. From the deposit should not remain a trace. All 3 of these products are suitable for cleaning, but there are many other products, each of which can also cope with the removal of contaminants, so you should focus on the assortment in the store and the recommendations of the sellers.

Quite often, dishes lose their former appearance very quickly. It can be difficult to get rid of yellowness, as well as porridge or even caramel, so each of the methods described will help to cope with pollution, but only if all recommendations are strictly observed.

Useful pot tips

To get started, get quality pots, a good stainless steel pot is easier to wash, and it’s great to cook in it. In any case, in order to better wash the pan, it should be soaked immediately after emptying. Be careful with pots with Teflon non-stick coating, this coating is easy to damage with a metal object, so using a metal brush is not recommended in any case. Otherwise, your pan will simply have to be thrown away, because you can’t eat from a damaged pan, the harmful substances contained in Teflon will enter your body through food.

The tool with which our grandmothers washed dishes, the simplest is baking soda. Two thirds of the water, two to three tablespoons of soda and boil for 30-40 minutes. We rinse and look at the reflective surface, admiring the smooth lines of his nose.

A very effective remedy for soaking the pan, citric acid, find a pan larger than the one you want to wash, put the pan in it, pour water so that it covers the pan, pour a tablespoon of citric acid and simmer for about an hour over low heat.

If you want to preserve the gloss of your enameled pan from darkening, this can be achieved by boiling with various dishwashing detergents. Or boil, twice a month, in a saucepan, water with vinegar.

The remaining food that burns in the pan is especially difficult to remove, so try the following, pour ordinary table salt in a saucepan, pour a little water and let it stand, then just rinse with running water.

And here is a slightly sophisticated, but effective method, after which your pots will sparkle. Find in your pantry a boil-out or a large pan, put all the pots in your kitchen into it. Fill it all with water, and fill it with a bottle of stationery glue, pour a pack of washing powder. We boil this whole alchemical mixture for two hours. You can also add a packet of soda ash here.

What you need to know

Probably, there is no need to remind once again that the taste and quality of food directly depends on the dishes in which we cook it. Accordingly, it should always be clean, not have burns or scale. But before you start cleaning your pan from soot, you need to decide on the appropriate method, since each material and coating the dishes require their individual care. For example, a pot with a ceramic coating cannot be sent to the sink immediately after removing it from the heat. Ceramics does not like a sharp temperature drop. Also, such dishes are not recommended to be washed with various abrasives. Moreover, undissolved crystals of sodium chloride and soda can act as abrasive agents. Enamel pans should not be treated with acid-containing agents. Stainless steel can not be cleaned with aggressive compounds containing chlorine and ammonia. Sometimes from the wrong choice of household chemicals, dark stains and stains remain on stainless steel, which can never be eliminated.

If you are going to wash dirty and burnt pots in a dishwasher, it is better to soak them at least in dishwashing liquid.

Tip: so that you do not suffer with the question of how to clean burnt dishes, it is better to start cleaning as soon as possible, while the pollution is still fresh. If you don’t have time for this, at least pour water into the pan.

Edible salt and soda

Salt well corrodes burnt food and fat. There are several ways to use it.

  • We sprinkle the wet bottom and the walls of the dishes well with salt, wait a couple of hours, then clean them with detergents - sponges, liquid soap or liquid for dishes.

IMPORTANT! This method is better not to use for aluminum pots, as prolonged soaking will cause dark spots on the metal.

  • A dirty pan can be easily cleaned from soot and soot with prepared saline. To do this, pour the necessary amount of water into it so that it completely covers the dirt on the bottom and walls, pour out at least five tablespoons of salt there. We put the pan on the fire and boil the solution for about 40 minutes. After such boiling, all adhering dirt will begin to easily depart.
  • Wash off the external soot and soot with soda. We need to take large bulk dishes, for example, a boiling pan or a basin in which our pan that we are going to clean would fit. Pour the required amount of water into this basin and add at least a glass of soda to it. Boil in the resulting solution over low heat for about 1 to 2 hours. Do not forget that plastic handles should not be in water when boiling, otherwise they may melt. Start cleaning the “cooked” pan only after the solution has cooled.
  • You can clean the "inside" of the dishes with the same method of digestion and soda solution, which should be poured into the inside of the stained pan.

Tip: for best effect, replace baking soda with calcined one, and add a couple of tablespoons of vinegar or a small amount of liquid laundry soap to the solution (regular soap chips or dishwashing liquid will do).

  • If the bottom is burnt, it is treated with a mixture of soda and lemon juice. Juice can be replaced with crystallized citric acid or vinegar. After a while, the adhering food debris will soften, and you can easily wash them with a sponge or brush. This method is used for fresh, not very dry contaminants.

Activated carbon

This method will help clean stainless steel dishes.

Activated carbon tablets are always sold in any pharmacy. Moreover, both white and black coal are suitable for us. The difference is only in price, because white is more expensive. The required number of tablets, depending on the amount of contamination, must be crushed in a mortar to a powder state, to which we add a little water. The output should be sour cream - a similar mixture. We apply this mass to the pollution and leave it to act for 20 minutes. Then we wash everything off well under warm running water.

Many experienced housewives use acetic acid when they need to clean the bottom of the pan from burnt jam. Vinegar is poured with a thin layer on the burnt bottom of the dishes, the top is covered with a lid and left to act for a couple of hours. Then, they are thoroughly washed under warm water, using detergents.

Tip: this method is especially good for aluminum pans; it not only copes with burnt soiling, but also removes dark spots that eventually form on the walls of aluminum.

Additional ways

  • The peel of apples, well-washed potatoes from the ground or pieces of rhubarb will help to cope with burnouts and a layer of scale. They just need to be put in a saucepan, pour water and cook on low heat for some time. Then turn off the fire, close the lid and let them languish for another 1 hour. Next, remove the cleanings and rinse well and clean the pan.
  • Whey is also useful as a cleaning agent. Thanks to the acid present in its composition, it will cope well with food residues adhering to the bottom and is perfect for all types and materials of pots. Fill the soiled bottom of the dishes with serum so that it completely covers all the pollution and can withstand the day, and more. After that, wash the dishes in the usual way.
  • The usual 72% soap was used by our grandmothers. They successfully washed and cleaned everything. The best part is that this method is extremely simple, cheap and suitable for all types of pots. Try it and you.
Before using it, carefully study its composition, as well as instructions for its use. Observe the required dosage, work only in protective gloves, and after processing, wash the dishes and your hands very carefully.

Experienced housewives over time have already identified for themselves the funds they particularly liked. Amway, Oven Cleaner, developed a very effective and absolutely ecological cleaning product. The disadvantage of this product is only its high price. “Bugs Shumanit” perfectly cleans grease and carbon deposits, although it does not have any abrasives in its composition, it is still a rather aggressive means. The good news is that it easily copes with even the most neglected pollution, at its very reasonable price. The cheapest and equally aggressive (since it contains chlorine) is ordinary White. How to work with her. In a medium-sized pot, pour water and 1 tablespoon or more of the product, all this is boiled for 30 minutes, and then thoroughly washed.

IMPORTANT! After treatment with whiteness, do not forget to pour clean water into the pan again and boil it again, idle.

We clean aluminum dishes

To effectively clean burnt aluminum utensils, you need to know how to do it right. Inadequate surface treatment of aluminum will lead not only to its blackening. For example, some acids are able to act on this metal, during the reaction with which aluminum releases heavy chemical compounds harmful to the human body.

  • One of the simple and affordable ways to wash burnt aluminum dishes is onions. It is simply boiled with the addition of water and a small amount of ammonia, then everyone is washed, as usual.
  • A rather unusual way is toothpaste. You probably did not know that a layer of soot can be cleaned with a simple toothpaste. Moreover, for this purpose it is not necessary to buy expensive pasta, it is the cheapest one that suits. Treat with the product the additionally soaked places moistened with water and leave for several hours. Then rinse off with a brush or sponge.
  • Silicate or clerical glue is also an unusual, but rather effective tool for removing the old layer of soot and grease. Heat a mixture of equal proportions of glue, water and grated laundry soap. Then apply it to the places of contamination with a sponge. Wait a while and rinse under running warm water.

Tip: if the bottom or walls of the aluminum pan are blackened, you can return them to their previous appearance using the method of boiling in a solution of water and 3 to 4 tablespoons of vinegar. If you want to always keep aluminum utensils in constant excellent cleanliness, we recommend washing them by adding a few drops of ammonia to the water.

As you can see, even the oldest and most burnt pan can be cleaned easily and efficiently if you apply methods that are suitable and tested by experienced housewives.

How to clean old pots and pans from different materials

If you have old pans made of cast iron, aluminum or duralumin, but their condition is absolutely terrible, then you should try to return to its proper form with two methods:

  1. Soviet recipe for boiling,
  2. The method of mechanical cleaning.

Important! If the age of your dishes is from 20 to 50 years, then the quality of the alloy is much better than the kitchen utensils produced today. Make a little effort and after cleaning you will understand all the advantages of this pot or pan. In fashion, antiquity always wins, but sometimes it is very expensive.

The method of boiling according to the Soviet recipe: soda ash + silicate glue + laundry soap.

It will not be easy for you to get rid of soot 15-20 years ago, this is not an easy task and you cannot manage it quickly. But if you try, then the perfect shine of the dishes will be your reward.

You will need such tools and materials:

  • Capacity suitable size,
  • 1 bar 72% laundry soap,
  • ½ cup stationery glue is also silicate or liquid glass,
  • ½ cup soda ash, not food,
  • Scraper or small knife
  • Metal sponge.

How to apply all this:

How to wash dishes from plaque - folk remedies

Utensils that have lost their original shine in the process of many years of use require quality cleaning. It often develops that long-term soot cannot be eliminated by soaking dishes in soap and water. And then the housewives think about what tool to use to solve the problem.

It is important to remember that not all kitchen utensils can withstand cleaning with modern chemicals for washing dishes. Ceramic products, or those that have a special coating, are not recommended to be cleaned with household chemicals. It corrodes the coating and puts the dishes in a non-functional state.

As for folk remedies, they differ in a milder effect and are suitable for any kitchen items.

If you have a problem with cleaning dishes, first understand what it is made from. After all, metals do not react equally to cleaning folk remedies. Salt, for example, has a harmful effect on stainless steel, and acid is very dangerous for enamel dishes.

Laundry soap

This tool is considered one of the best when it becomes necessary to free the dishes from fat deposits that have settled inside. To prepare the cleaning solution, laundry soap and water are used.

The cleaning work is carried out according to the following algorithm:

  • half a bar of soap is ground on a coarse grater,
  • crushed pieces of soap are placed in a contaminated container and filled with water, not bringing its level by 5 cm to the edge,
  • the dishes are set on fire, the composition is brought to a boil, which should last 30 minutes on low heat,
  • then the heating is stopped, the container is covered with a lid and wait for cooling,
  • the cooled solution is drained and the dishes cleaned with a sponge.

This method is considered delicate, because it does not harm the coating. It is recommended to practice it when cleaning Teflon dishes and ceramic items.

Vinegar and Citric Acid

A composition comprising these ingredients successfully cleans kitchen utensils made of aluminum and stainless steel. But such a cleaning solution is absolutely unsuitable for samples with enamel coating.

The preparation of the cleaning composition is performed as follows:

  • 1 liter of water is poured into the pan, put it on the fire and brought to a boil,
  • 120 ml of 9% vinegar and 25 g of citric acid are dissolved in heated water,
  • place dirty dishes in this solution for 1 hour.

After this time, it remains only a synthetic washcloth to clean off the fat. Thanks to this composition, even old fat easily leaves the dishes.

PVA glue and laundry soap

For the release of pots or pans with the most problematic contaminants from multilayer black soot and fat, a composition consisting of PVA glue and soap is good. In this way, you can clean dishes made from any materials.

The cleaning process includes the following steps:

  • pour 4 l of water into the basin
  • add to the same half a bar of laundry soap, crushed into shavings,
  • complete the composition of 1 tbsp. l PVA glue,
  • mix the ingredients of the solution and boil contaminated dishes in it for 50 minutes,
  • remove traces of soot with a metal sponge or a soft sponge if the dishes are covered with enamel.

Soda is cleaned dishes made of stainless steel or enamel. If you use soda on aluminum utensils, its walls may darken from this material. Soda is allowed to wash the pan from the inside from burnt food and the outside from deposited soot or fat.

The cleaning work will consist of the following steps:

  • make a metal basin
  • pour 6 liters of boiling water into it,
  • add 450 g of soda there,
  • put in a bowl a dirty saucepan or pan,
  • put on fire, bring to a boil and boil for 1 hour,
  • turn off the gas and wait for the solution to cool,
  • remove dirty dishes from the container and remove traces of grease with a sponge,
  • rinse dishes with heated water.

Ordinary salt cleans minor contaminants on aluminum dishes or enamelled items. However, cleaning stainless steel utensils is not recommended. Salt causes darkening of the steel and its subsequent corrosion.

During the cleaning process, the salt is applied to the sponge and rubbed on the bottom and walls of the pan or pan.

And you can also apply another recipe:

  • the contaminated pan is poured with cool brine,
  • put on fire and boil for at least 1 hour,
  • wipe with a damp sponge and rinse with water.

In the case when it is required to clean carbon deposits and grease on the outside of the pan - it is placed in a large container with saline and boiled.

Mustard powder

You can free dishes from greasy soot by applying mustard powder. To do this, do the following:

  • put the dirty dishes on the fire and heat them,
  • scald the pan with boiling water,
  • pour in a few packets of dry mustard and fill it with water,
  • periodically for 3 hours, mix the composition with a wooden spatula, trying to scrape off the old fat,
  • then wash the dishes with a sponge and detergent,
  • rinse the dishes with water.

To clean glass or ceramic dishes, a composition of 1 liter is used. hot water and 250 g of mustard powder. Pour the pan with this solution, then insist 24 hours. During this period, complete fat exfoliation occurs, and it is easily removed with a sponge.

Vegetable oil and soap

If the coating of fat on the dishes is not old, you need to make a hot composition according to the following recipe:

  • take half a piece of tar soap and grind it,
  • put soap shavings in a dirty pan and fill it with 100 ml. boiling water
  • stir until the soap dissolves, and then add 60 ml to the composition. vegetable oil
  • mix the composition again and pour out about 200 g of baking soda to achieve a mushy state,
  • scald the pan with boiling water,
  • put the container on fire and heat the composition,
  • wait 1 hour and remove the exfoliated coating with a sponge,
  • rinse the dishes.

Hydrogen peroxide

To wash the dishes with layers of burning and fat from the outside will work out if you cook a special paste yourself. It is made according to this recipe:

  • take half a glass of soda and add as much hydrogen peroxide to it to get the consistency of sour cream,
  • with this mixture, coat the bottom and walls of the dishes,
  • cover the dishes with polyethylene film and leave the composition for 35 minutes,
  • using a sponge or brush, wash softened soot under the tap.

How to wash plates from yellow plaque

On plates and other kitchen items, during their long use, a yellow coating may form. In fact, this is not completely washed fat remaining after eating. It is easy enough to wash it, using folk remedies. Here are some tools to help solve the problem.

  1. Baking soda. It has such properties, thanks to which it is in no way inferior to popular detergents. Put it on a contaminated place and rub it with a sponge.
  2. Lemon acid. Yellow plaque on dishes is easily removable with citric acid. Put liquid on the polluted place and leave without action for 22 minutes. Then you just have to rinse the plate with water.
  3. Mustard powder. This substance can also come in handy when there is a need to eliminate old fat. To achieve the result, dilute the mustard in heated water and place the dishes there for 40 minutes. Then it remains to clean the problem area with a sponge.

Cookware made of earthenware or porcelain must not be cleaned with abrasive materials. They may leave marks on a brittle surface.

How to wash old fat from dishes

So that fat is not deposited on the dishes in layers, it must be washed immediately after each meal. If you do not have the opportunity or desire to wash the dishes after dinner, soak the plates in warm water, after adding detergent there. Fat will not be able to freeze at the bottom and walls of the plates. The detergent will partially dissolve the fat overnight, and in the morning you can easily wash all the dishes to shine.

The washed dishes must be cleaned with a dry towel to remove residual moisture. Thanks to this, you can avoid corrosion.

The pan needs to be washed after each use, and not expect a condition when its walls become thicker due to the appearance of black soot.

Older deposits of fat should be removed using store chemicals. A large assortment of detergent compositions is presented on the modern market. When cleaning dishes from old grease layers, apply the purchased product to a dirty place and wait a while, as specified in the instructions. Then it remains to clean the fat with a sponge or brush.

Once again, when buying a detergent, carefully read the instructions. Not all of them are suitable for use on aluminum cookware or on objects coated with Teflon.

How to wash plastic dishes from grease

Plastic belongs to unpretentious materials, but this does not mean that you can use hard sponges and brushes, as well as alkaline products and items containing abrasive particles in its cleaning. They can form scratches on the walls of dishes, in which bacteria will multiply.

To wash such dishes use warm water, liquid soap or some kind of dishwashing detergent. Water should not be heated above 70 degrees, otherwise small cracks will appear on the dishes.

If the kitchen utensils are made of heat-resistant plastic, you can use the dishwasher, but only if allowed by the manufacturer.

Dried food is easily removed from plastic dishes if you soak it for 30 minutes in warm water by adding 2-3 drops of detergent.

As we already understood, removing fat from plastic utensils does not cause problems. But in order to remove the unpleasant odor, which is firmly eaten into the walls of the vessel, you will need to work hard. To solve the problem, use one of the following methods.

  1. Pour 200 ml of heated water, 100 ml of 9% vinegar and 3 drops of detergent into a plastic container. Close it with a lid, shake for 1 minute and do not touch for 50 minutes. Then drain the cleaning solution and rinse with water.
  2. Mix the baking soda and the heated water so that a paste is obtained. Coat the walls of the plastic items of kitchen utensils with this compound. Leave them that way overnight. In the morning all that remains is to wash off the remaining soda with cold water.
  3. Throw 6 tablets of activated carbon into the container, cover it for 2 hours. During this time, the tablets absorb the entire smell.
  4. Moisten the inner walls of the container with lemon juice, leave to air for 3 hours. Then rinse it with water.

How to wash old dishes

In the process of using cups, bowls and mugs, they sooner or later acquire a yellow coating. It occurs for the following reasons:

  • tap water contains many metal salts,
  • use for washing low-quality products,
  • hastily washing in low temperature water,
  • washing dishes without due diligence.

Yellowness can be eliminated if purchased products are used. And it will be even better and cheaper if you use the home remedies listed below to clean the dishes.

  1. Baking soda solution. Put dirty dishes in the basin and fill it with hot soda solution (3 tbsp. Funds for 1 liter of water). Soak kitchen items in liquid for 1 hour. Then rinse them with a sponge under tap water.
  2. Dry mustard. This tool is highly environmentally friendly. Plates, mugs and scoops are placed in a basin with warm water for 50 minutes, after adding 4 tbsp. tablespoons of dry mustard. At the end, wash the dishes with a sponge.
  3. Hydrogen peroxide with soda. These components are mixed in equal proportions. After that, the composition is applied to the dirty dishes with a sponge and washed with water. This composition is able to clean to shine any dirt.

The use of home remedies saves the family budget. The price for them is low and they are available to everyone. In addition, they will not harm your health.

How to wash glassware from grease

Glassware is quite common in modern kitchens. Glass does not react to food, does not decompose from acids and scale, is not afraid of rust and does not absorb odors.

But care for such dishes should be special. You can clean glassware with one of the options below.

  • Food foil and soap. Take a piece of this material and crush it. Keep the cookware under a stream of hot water and rub it with foil at the same time. Then with a soaped sponge it will remain to wash off traces of fat. At the end, the dishes will rinse in warm water and wipe.
  • Ammonia. Pour 5 l of heated water into the basin, and then another 5 tsp. ammonia. After washing the dishes in such a solution, they are wiped dry with a cloth from the flannel without rinsing.
  • Mustard powder. Pour 3 liters of heated water into the basin and pour 2 tsp into it. mustard powder. Soak glassware in this liquid composition for 7 minutes. Remove the dishes from the basin, wipe it with a flannel and rinse with water.

  • Table vinegar. Pour heated water from the tap into the sink. Add 2 tbsp. l 9% vinegar. In this solution, wash the dishes for 2 minutes.
If you need a glass bottle or jar to clean from grease and dirt, then this is easily done with potato chips. In application, this method is very similar to the previous one.
  • Baking soda. Place the dishes in heated water. On a sponge moistened with water, pour a pinch of soda. Wipe the area of dirt until a result is achieved. Dip objects in water and wipe.
  • Salt. Washing such dishes in salted water does not lead to the appearance of stains and returns to objects shine. Pour 3 liters of heated water into the basin. Dissolve in a liquid 3 tbsp. l salt and mix the composition. Wash the glassware with the solution, then dry it, without resorting to wiping.

Remember that baking soda is not afraid of any dirt on glassware, and the use of salt or ammonia will help restore the original shine to objects.

How to clean the plates on the back

If you set out to clean the plates of fat on the back, then acetic or citric acid is best for this.

To clean the back surfaces of the plates, the work is carried out in the following sequence:

  • apply one of these acids to the pollution,
  • wait about 15 minutes
  • wash the plates with detergent,
  • rinse with warm water under the tap.

Effective dishwashing detergent

If for a number of reasons you don’t have a desire to work with folk remedies for cleaning dishes, then you should resort to one of the options associated with the use of household chemicals. We are talking about the use of washing powder in combination with dry bleach. According to the reviews of many housewives, this composition can return the dishes to newness.

To use this method, do the following:

  • pour well heated water into the basin
  • add equal amounts of washing powder and dry bleach,
